I’m often asked, “what do you write about?”

To which I reply, “the magic of life.”

I find life to be magical, even sometimes when it’s not. I find magical stories in the humorous things that happen in life as well as the serious moments. I find stories in love and joy and happiness as well as the more difficult moments when love is hard to find, and joy and happiness are a still small voice waiting off in the distance to be realized.

In these moments I try to turn it around a bit, see the other side, there’s usually a story in there somewhere.

I am deeply spiritual and so create stories that come from a spiritual, otherworldly place - ghost stories, reincarnation and what most would call the supernatural.

I also write non-fiction. I am a believer in the concept of vibration and energy. I believe that we are spiritual/vibrational beings having a physical experience. I believe in our ability to create our own reality. Much of my non-fiction centers around helping folks understand and control their vibration and energy for the sake of creating their reality.

I’ve been a writer since I was twelve but have only become interested in being and author since 2020 after many life experiences that led me to believe that perhaps I have some interesting stories to tell about love and healing and magic.

I’m an indie author for several reasons -

I believe in my work - in the ability of my work to entertain and move my readers. I don’t want to wait around for a disinterested third party to decide that my writing is right for their publishing list at the moment. I find it appalling that Harry Potter was rejected twelve times before it was picked up by Bloomsbury. It offends me that those publishers did not know what they were looking at when they saw it.

As an indie author, I retain the rights to my work. Most publishers will hold those rights for a minimum of two years and after that will do as they want with the work.

And finally, but most importantly, as an indie author I get to sell my work and engage directly with my readers. My readers are the most important part of my work and I want to have a relationship with those who are reading my books.

If you are reading this and you are a fan of my work, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Stay tuned because I am just getting started!

Blessings,
Aylah
