Yule

Yule is the Winter Solstice and much of the celebration, language and symbolism of Yule hales to us from the Norse Germanic folks of Iceland and Greenland later to be known as Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Modern groups are the decedents of the the Danes, the Faroese, people, Inlanders, Norwegians and Swedes.

Yule is also celebrated as the Norse new year. These folks related to Winter Solstice as the new year because on the 21st of December the days start to become longer, making our way back to spring and the warmer part of the year.
