Potions and Brews

What is the difference between a potion and a brew? Well for starters both of them are Magical as opposed to their medicinal counterparts - Infusions and tinctures. Potions and brews are made with herbs relying heavily on the Magical vibrations and energy of those herbs and seeking a Magical outcome. Between the two - a potion is usually alcohol based where a brew is steeped in boiling water. One such brew would be alfalfa and dill steeped in boiling water and drank for money and prosperity, where a love potion would be Rose pedals, Rosemary and Basil in red wine to sit for a spell and then served to you partner on your anniversary to strengthen your relationship. It is important to study the toxicity levels of herbs and other important factors before consuming any herbs. I use the following books for Magical information:

How to Make a Potion

Take a half ounce of herb or a mixture of herbs and pour them into 1 cup of grain alcohol (Everclear.)
Allow the mixture to sit as long as you can before you need to use it.
Caution - This mixture is strong to the taste, you may need to dilute it with water.

How to Make a Brew

Take a tablespoon of herbs or a mixture of herbs and put them in water that has boiled (do not put the
herbs in the water as it is boiling.) Cover and allow to cool to desired temperature. Strain and drink.
