When I am an Old Witch I will burn with the wild fires of passion and desire.
I will join hands with other Old Witches and we will encircle our men and heal them with our medicine.
I will stand present with our mothers and we will raise strong, powerful babies who will grow in love and compassion for all.
When I am an Old Witch I will heal myself. I will pull the crimson ribbon from my hair and my gray locks will fall wild and unkept around my shoulders. I will be pierced and tattooed and I will not explain myself.
When I am an Old Witch all of the young maidens will sit at my feet and they will talk of how I am an Old Witch – beautiful and wise and they will want to be like me when they themselves are Old Witches.
When I am an Old Witch I will walk my tired legs to the highest mountain, I will behold sister Moon in her silver glory as she kisses my face, filling my faded blue eyes with her luminous presence and renewing my soul.
When I am an Old Witch I will plant my withered feet in the cool Earth and I will raise my wrinkled hands to the warm sun and I will call forth my power and I will help the Earth to heal and the sky and the trees.
When I am an Old Witch I will lift my voice, weak and shaky and I will sing the power of my ancestors. I will not forget the song of their hearts and that too shall be my song.
When I am an Old Witch My Magic shall not fade away but shall burn brighter in me than ever before.
For now, I know.
