Altar Work
At your altar is where you make offerings to the Most High, the gods and goddesses, the universe, angels, dragons, fae folk and guides and all of those beings who contracted with you to see you through this lifetime.
Your altar is a sacred place in your home where you can sit, meditate and pray, and raise your energy.
You don’t have to have a table sitting in the middle of your living room floor the way I do. It can be in the corner of a room, it can be on a tray that can be put away when company comes, or it can be a shelf in a bookcase. It can basically be whatever and however your like - it’s yours.
Once you decide how you’re going to set it up and where it’s going to set, decide what you want on it. What you want on your altar may change from from time to time so it’s nice to have a box or a tote to store altar items you are not using at the moment.
You can put anything you want on your altar, things that are important to you. But also include things such as the elements - a bowl of water, some sand, some incense and some candles. But past that put on your altar what you want on your altar.
Every day, preferably as you are getting ready to meditate and pray - light a candle, burn some incense, run your finger through the dirt and sip some of the water.
Below are some altars that I have made.
